Kinga Gorniak joined investment consultant Canterbury Consulting as v.p. of alternative investment research on June 19, Director of Research Stuart Blair said. Gorniak is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and monitoring private market managers, Blair said.
She will also serve as chairwoman of the firm’s private capital manager research committee and as a member of the hedge fund manager research and capital markets committees, he added.
Gorniak reports to Blair and is based in the firm’s Newport Beach, Calif. headquarters. Gorniak’s hiring comes as the firm is experiencing continuous client demand for private capital investments during a growth period marked by faster fundraising, Blair said.
She joined the consulting firm from Goldman Sachs Asset Management, where she served as v.p. of alternative investments and manager selection, Blair said. Gorniak also worked as v.p. of the growth portfolio at Pacific Global Advisors, which was acquired by Goldman Sachs in 2015, NPNews sister publication fin|daily previously reported.
Gorniak led manager research and allocations for private capital and hedge funds at both Goldman Sachs and PGA, Blair said.
He noted that she also served as an associate director of student loan and commercial paper asset backed securitizations at Fitch Ratings, which will help in the firm’s credit markets research.
“Kinga’s experience at Goldman Sachs brings a skill level that will benefit all of our clients and we are excited to have her join the Canterbury team,” Blair said.
